What are the benefits of this massage?Element #1: Deep Tissue
Element #2 Trigger Point Therapy Element #3 Sports Massage Element #4 Massage Cupping / Medi Cupping Deep tissue massage can vary from slightly more pressure than a Swedish massage to a very deep, intense pressure. Clients who prefer deep tissue are usually somewhat athletic or work out regularly. This is a massage that both men and women frequently request. Another modality often used during The Stretch is Trigger Point Therapy.
TPT is an advanced modality that aims to eliminate trigger points in the body. Trigger Points are points of pain and spasm in the muscle often referred to as "knots". Trigger Points form via athletic activity, stress, injury, and repetitive strain. Trigger Points get their name because they often trigger a referral sensation of pain, numbness, or tingling in other parts of the body. This is considered a trigger point pain pattern and it points the Massage Therapist performing the massage in the right direction of the cause or effect of the active trigger point. Another versatile modality is Sports Massage. Sports Massage is massage that incorporates more stretching and / or deeper work for athletes or people who are physically active. Heat or ice therapies may be incorporated to reduce inflammation and decrease healing time of an injury. Focused stretches will improve flexibility and prevent injury. Your therapist will give you specific take-home stretches to address your individual needs. Chronic pain or muscle tension can be best addressed with this modality. Please note that deep doesn’t have to mean painful. Each massage is customized to your comfort level and the work should never hurt. |
